Who is Rev. JeKaren?
The heart of my ministry is centering love.
Not love as sentiment or slogan, but love as a steady, practiced way of being with ourselves and one another—especially in moments of change, grief, and uncertainty. I am an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, spiritual guide, and creative facilitator, and my work accompanies people and communities as they navigate life’s tender thresholds with honesty, care, and imagination.
Much of my ministry lives in the in-between spaces. Times when something is ending, something new is trying to emerge, or the path forward feels unclear. I believe these moments deserve our attention, not our urgency. I believe love shows up here as patience, presence, and a willingness to stay.
My approach is relational and reflective, grounded in Unitarian Universalist values, womanist wisdom, ritual, and creative practice. Whether I’m preaching, facilitating a workshop, or sitting with someone one-on-one, I aim to create spaces where people feel held enough to tell the truth—and free enough to wonder what might come next.
I am also a certified death and grief doula, and my work is shaped by a deep respect for life’s cycles—beginnings, endings, and everything in between. I trust that grief and joy often live side by side, and that tending both is an act of love and courage.
This is ministry rooted in presence rather than performance.
It is slow work.
It is listening work.
It is love practiced in every way.
If you are seeking spiritual support that honors your full humanity—or a guide who brings warmth, depth, and care to communal spaces—I would be glad to connect.
With fierce love,
Rev. JeKaren
